STITT CAMPAIGN RESPONDS TO FAKE FORUM ON “RURAL” ISSUES IN URBAN TULSA

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (Oct. 27, 2022)– After Democrat candidate Joy Hofmeister declined to participate in a Gubernatorial forum hosted in Lawton on rural issues and moderated by a rural radio reporter, Hofmeister teamed up with AFR to stage a political stunt in urban Tulsa.

“Democrat Joy Hofmeister is trying to save face for not showing up in rural Oklahoma for a gubernatorial forum about rural issues moderated by a rural radio host, Ron Hays, and sponsored by the Oklahoma Farm Bureau and Cattlemen’s Association,” said Donelle Harder, campaign manager. “Now, after the fact, she is agreeing to talk about rural Oklahoma but only in Tulsa, for Tulsans to attend, with a Tulsa reporter? Laughable. Governor Kevin Stitt has been confirmed for weeks to speak and take questions at the Oklahoma County Commissioners general session, and we asked Hofmeister’s sponsor, AFR, to adjust the time by a couple hours but they declined and pushed ahead. Oklahomans see through these political games and know that Democrat Joy Hofmeister would be devastating for rural Oklahoma with her big-government Biden mandates.”

The Stitt for Governor campaign exchange with Democrat Hofmeister’s sponsor, AFR, is as follows:

Despite being given several weeks notice for the Governor Forum in Lawton, Gov. Kevin Stitt was the only candidate to show up and answer questions from the moderator on rural issues. The forum was streamed on many various outlets and can also be watched on the Oklahoma Cattlemen Association’s Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/OklahomaCattlemensAssociation/videos/1526611344435913
